About Ryan
For more than 20 years, my professional life has centred on environments where clear thinking really matters.
Most of that time has been in aviation, working as both a pilot and an air traffic controller; roles that demand calm decision-making, sharp situational awareness, and the ability to stay composed when the stakes are high. In aviation, unclear thinking has real consequences. You learn quickly how to step back, take in what's actually happening, and make deliberate choices.

That mindset shapes how I approach life and how I coach.

Outside of aviation, I'm a husband and a parent in a blended family with four incredible kids who challenge me, inspire me, and constantly remind me that growth never really stops.

Several years ago, while building my aviation consulting business, I decided to work with a coach. What started as a practical business decision turned into something far more significant. Through coaching, I gained clarity about what I was capable of and built tools that helped me navigate personal and professional challenges I never saw coming.

That experience shifted the trajectory of my life. It also led me to pursue formal training as a Certified Executive Coach through Royal Roads University, so I could help others find the same clarity, steadiness, and perspective that coaching offered me.

My Coaching Style
My coaching style is direct, thoughtful, and grounded. I ask questions that invite real reflection and gently challenge assumptions. Not the surface-level questions we often ask ourselves, but the ones that ask for genuine honesty.

The space I create is supportive and calm, with room for the conversations that actually move things forward. Meaningful growth rarely happens entirely inside what already feels familiar, so every now and then we'll sit with something that takes a little courage to look at. We do that together, in a way that's constructive and always pointed toward what's next.

Why I Coach
For many years I avoided difficult conversations and deeper reflection.

Like many people carrying responsibility for work, family, and life, I focused on solving whatever problem was right in front of me without leaving much room to look at the bigger picture.

Working with a coach changed that. Through the process, I started to notice the patterns and assumptions that had been quietly shaping many of my decisions. Once you see those things clearly, it's hard to go back to operating the same way.

That clarity is what drives me today. I coach because when people develop a clearer sense of themselves, their values, their patterns, the direction they actually want to head; they start making decisions with more confidence and intention. Walking alongside someone through that shift is one of the most rewarding things I get to do.

Who I Coach
I work with people who are ready to step back and think honestly about where they are and where they want to go.

Many of them are carrying significant responsibility in their work, their families, or both. From the outside, things may look stable or even successful, but inside there are often quieter questions about direction, about relationships, about what comes next.

The people I work with are often:
  • navigating career transitions or leadership challenges
  • working through relationship or family dynamics
  • seeking greater clarity and confidence in important decisions
  • feeling the weight of responsibility and competing demands
  • looking to build resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth

Some arrive with a specific challenge they want to work through. Others come with a quieter sense that they've been running on autopilot and want to bring more intention to the next chapter of their life.
Wherever you're starting from, coaching offers a steady, supportive space to think clearly and move forward with purpose.

A Partnership
Coaching, at its heart, is a partnership.

My role is to bring perspective, thoughtful questions, and structure to our conversations. Your role is to bring curiosity and a willingness to explore what might be possible. Some conversations will feel straightforward while others may invite you to look at long-held assumptions in a new light.  That is often where the most meaningful progress begins.

Together, we'll uncover your strengths, work through what gets in the way, and build real forward momentum in both your personal and professional life.
